The Australasian Environmental Law Enforcement and Regulators neTwork (AELERT) in collaboration with the NSW Environment Protection Authority invite you to the AELERT Local Government Training Workshop on Friday 17 October 2025.
This full day practical workshop is designed as a refresher course and capability building for existing Authorised Officers and council support staff with a focus on regulation and compliance.
These hands-on interactive sessions will provide participants with up-to-date skills, knowledge and approaches on key topics such as navigating legislation, regulatory authorities, offences, gathering and managing evidence, priority and major investigations, powers, record keeping, inspections, and more.
You will also have the opportunity to build relationships with your peer NSW state agency regulators and discover what’s available to you through the AELERT network.

The Authorised Officer Capability Building Workshop will cover the relevant skills and knowledge for AOs and support staff working in the field with a focus on regulation and compliance, and tailored to event participants.

The AELERT Local Government Training Workshop is FREE to attend for local government officers.
This training workshop will be held in-person only with no virtual delivery in partnership with the New South Wales Environment Protection Authority.
