PNEA Webinar: Strengthening the Mitigation Hierarchy in Pacific Infrastructure and Tourism Projects

March 27 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm AEDT

PNEA Webinar: Strengthening the Mitigation Hierarchy in Pacific Infrastructure and Tourism Projects

The Pacific Network for Environmental Assessment invites you to an upcoming webinar which explores “Strengthening the Mitigation Hierarchy in Pacific Infrastructure and Tourism Projects”.

The Pacific region faces the complex task of aligning with rigorous environmental (and social) sustainability standards while meeting economic goals. A critical tool in this endeavour is the application of the mitigation hierarchy, a systematic approach to avoiding, minimising, and compensating for environmental impacts. Complementing this, the IFC’s Performance Standards provide a comprehensive framework for managing and mitigating social and environmental impacts.

This webinar will explore implementing the mitigation hierarchy and IFC Performance Standard 6 (PS6) for sustainable tourism and infrastructure development in the Pacific region. Speaker Guy Dutson, an expert in biodiversity conservation in the Pacific, will share insights on applying these frameworks to avoid, minimize and offset environmental impacts.
