New Climate Change Specialist – CEnvP Scheme

Apr 8, 2025

AELERT partner the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ) operates the Certified Environmental Professional Scheme (CEnvP) run in accordance with the international standard for certifying bodies (ISO 17024).

The Scheme assesses and certifies environmental practitioners in areas such as impact assessment, site contamination, ecology, geomorphology, and (just relaunched in February 2025) climate change. Practitioners who achieve certification in these areas are demonstrated to be leading practitioners in their fields and give confidence to government, clients, industry and the community.

Find out more information about the CEnvP Scheme in the CEnvP Scheme Ready-Reference document, and also via the Certified Environmental Practitioner Scheme website.

The Reengineered Climate Change Specialist Certification
The CEnvP Scheme’s 2025 updated Climate Change Specialist (CEnvP-CC) certification provides essential assurance of professional expertise in climate risk assessment, adaptation, and mitigation. With mandatory climate-related financial reporting set to transform industries, this certification is the benchmark for true climate specialists.

AELERT members (and non-members) can apply for this new certification and gain benefits such as:

  • Meeting the demands of mandatory climate reporting
  • Gain recognition and unlock career opportunities
  • Be part of a trusted network shaping climate future
  • Steered by leaders in this field aligning with current and emerging climate requirements.
