The tool enables agencies to assess organisational maturity levels against 12 attributes across four fundamental regulatory characteristics which include: Vision, Role, and Strategy; Capability and Improvement; Governance and Delivery; and Leadership and Culture.

Kimberly Maiolo has been working with the South Australian EPA in various regulatory improvement roles for the past 14 years as currently serves as the Principal Adviser Regulatory Practice in the Compliance and Regulatory Practice Branch leading a small team that advances regulatory practice and capability across the organisation. We work with internal and external groups to deliver high quality projects and services to improve the way we work as an effective and trusted regulator. Greg Abood is chief executive officer of the Australasian Environmental Law Enforcement and Regulator’s Network (AELERT). He utilises his passion for regulation, experience in exercising the regulatory craft, and a natural leadership style focused on connecting people to strengthen the network and provide value to its members. He is particularly focussed on connecting members to AELERT’s international regulatory network partners in North America, Asia and Europe to facilitate new opportunities to collaborate and innovate at a global level.
