Working with First Nations: Delivering on the Priority Reforms

Oct 10, 2023

Registrations are open for the Working with First Nations: Delivering on the Priority Reforms program until 1 November.

The program has been designed to guide public servants through the new approach in the National Agreement on Closing the Gap and the importance of the Priority Reforms.

This six-session online program, presented by Geoff Richardson PSM and Professor Catherine Althaus, equips attendees with an understanding of the capabilities necessary for working with First Nations communities and building shared decision-making partnerships.

These include cultural responsiveness, engagement, co-design and co-production, and place-based community development – including supporting communities to access, own and use data. The program adopts the Canadian ‘Two-Eyed Seeing’ approach to respectfully recognise and embed the strength of Indigenous and non-Indigenous worldviews.

These skills and mindsets aim to make practical changes and gives you a network of fellow public servants passionate about making change.
